Professional Experience

I am an HCPC registered Podiatrist with a clinical background. She obtained a Bachelor of Science with Merit in Sports Science from the University of Glasgow in 2007. In 2011, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University, dedicating her studies to musculoskeletal injuries.
Since qualifying as a podiatrist, I have has gained extensive experience working in both NHS and private clinics, working for NHS Tayside before joining Stirling Podiatry in 2014. My special interests include sports injuries and biomechanics and in 2021, she enrolled in Podiatric Sports Medicine at Queen Mary University, completing the postgraduate certificate in 2022. This advanced training has enhanced my ability to provide evidence-based interventions and expanded her clinical practice.

Specialisations and Areas of Expertise

My specialisations and areas of expertise include; assessment and management of sports injuries, players biomechanics, and injury surveillance in football, particularly among female athletes. I am currently involved in a study that is working to develop a consensus on the definitions and diagnostic criteria for exercise-induced leg pain. These areas are supported by my extensive clinical experience in both NHS and private settings, advanced training in Podiatric Sports Medicine, and my background as a former football player and current club podiatrist.

Personal Interests/Hobbies

I represented Scotland in football at Under-17 and Under-19 levels and captained the Scottish Women’s Premier League side Spartans until my retirement in 2022 due to injury. I am now the club’s Podiatrist and assists with injury surveillance alongside the sports science and medical team.
